HOW TO CONNECT WITH GOD DAILY THROUGH HIS WORD
PRAY: (PREPARATION)
Psalms 139:23-24, I John 1:9, and ask God for grace to give you understanding and wisdom of His marvelous truths.
STUDY:
1 Observation: First, you want to make general observations (who is talking, setting, etc.). Look for repeated words, the tone, and structure.
2 Interpretation: Secondly, you want to interpret the verses. Go verse by verse and ask what does this mean, why is it here. If every scripture is God-breathed (2 Tim 3:16), then why is this verse here—what did it mean when it was written and what is the application for me now. THE KEY POINT NOT TO BE MISSED WHEN BREAKING DOWN THE VERSES IS THAT YOU WANT TO ASK YOURSELF WHAT DOES THIS SHOW ME ABOUT OUR GOD. FOCUS SO INTENTLY ON HIS CHARACTER AND EVERYTHING THAT SCRIPTURE TEACHES OF GOD.

3 Application: Go through the verses you studied and ask yourself the following—be specific—not just broad and general.
