Freedom Ministry of The Chapel is made up of a team of facilitators,
under elder and pastoral supervision, who desire to minister to others by
“binding up the brokenhearted,” “setting captives free,” and
helping people “grow in grace” that is in Christ Jesus.

Our heart is that through discipleship counseling and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, others would come to know and fully grasp their identity in Christ. It is our belief that true freedom, victory, and peace hinge on understanding who He intended us to be.

What is Discipleship Counseling?
A process of healing in which the Holy Spirit is the counselor and the discipler is only the facilitator. Freedom Ministry’s disciplers do not seek to fix your problems, but rather to walk with you as God heals you. A discipleship counselor looks at your problems with the Bible as their manual because we firmly believe that our issues are resolved by understanding God’s view of them. Our focus centers on receiving and digesting God’s truth concerning the mind, will, and emotions of man. We are not licensed counselors or psychologists, so if at any time we sense a deeper problem beyond the scope of our ministry, we will make that known and refer you to someone who can help.

How Does Freedom Ministry Do This?
Primarily through discipleship counseling. This involves meeting one-on-one with a trained Freedom Ministry “discipler” for a period of time, usually ranging from 8-14 weeks.
Also:
  • Small group/Bible study/seminar leadership and teaching
  • Sponsoring discipleship/ministry related conferences
  • Discipleship counselor training opportunities, basic and advanced

Who Needs What Freedom Ministry Offers?
We believe everyone could benefit from a deeper understanding and experience of the gospel of grace, but we have discovered that people who recognize a specific problem or need in their lives are most receptive to what the Holy Spirit has to offer through this ministry. Sometimes God uses the hard things to make us more open to His desire to work in our lives. Some examples of common “presenting problems” include:
  • Tragedy or traumatic experiences
  • Relationship issues (separation, divorce, child discipline, etc.)
  • Spiritual frustration, lack of growth, or declining faith
  • A “tried everything, but I’m stuck” outlook on life
  • An overwhelming feeling or sense that “God had something more for me.”

How Do I Get Help From Freedom Ministry?
A ministry team facilitator will contact you and after a brief interview, you will be paired with a “discipler” who will work with you and guide you through the freedom process.

How Do I Become a Freedom Discipler?
All disciplers must participate in the 8 to 14 week discipleship counseling process as well as the 8-14 week training program. Once all training program assignments are completed, you will then be paired with a current, experienced discipler to “co-disciple” someone. Participating in co-discipleship completes your training and you will then be able to work with others one-on-one.

What People are Saying About Freedom Ministry
“After being a Christian for 25 years, I finally found true freedom. There are no more questions about measuring up and pleasing God. Remember the joy and excitement you had when you first became a Christian? I have it back and much more. I am in love with the God of the universe and He loves me!”

"The message of Freedom has impacted my life more than any other truth of my Christian experience apart from salvation. Knowing who I am in Christ and who Christ is in me has delivered me from the power of sin and continues to deliver me daily from the power of self."
“Freedom Ministry has been the tool God has used in my Christian life...setting me free from the bondage to beliefs that held me prisoner in my daily walk. It is liberating and life-changing...the normal Christian life!”

"The realities of the [Grace Life], taught to me through Freedom Ministry, gave me a new perspective with which to view God, myself, and my relationship to God and others. It was a life-changing experience indeed. Frequently I apply what I learned through discipleship counseling to cope with life and its myriad situations."

“It was like the light was finally switched on. After years of trying and working and performing…finally there is an indelible revelation of Christ in me, and the knowing that He is pleased with me, not because of what I have done or not done, but because of who I am. I am His beloved!”
