International Ministry
Imagine the strangeness of being thousands of miles from home. Imagine the novelty of adventure wearing off and the longing for familiar sights, smells and tastes setting in. Imagine the growing loneliness of being adrift in a sea of people whose language you barely understand.
This is the experience of a vast group of people who come to the Baton Rouge each year. They come as students and teachers or just people seeking residence. Some need simple information. Others need language instruction. What they have in common is a deep need to be an accepted and connected.
The Chapel’s International Ministry provides a home away from home for people who have come from around the world. It allows members of the local community to broaden their horizons by creating an opportunity to interact with and learn from people of varied cultures. It serves as a bridge to connect people from many nations.
If you are here in Baton Rouge from another country, we would love to get to know you. We are ready to help you as you adjust to living in the United States. If you would like to meet some friendly Americans or find out more about the programs we offer, check out the ministry links on the right or contact Kathleen Galloway our Administrative Assistant.
PS: We welcome global-minded Americans as well!
